"The craftly uncanniness behind the semblance of things" by Meggie Blankschyn

"The craftly uncanniness behind the semblance of things" is a dance that uses the imagery of darkness as the
state in which the ego is confronted with the burden of its earthly existence and inner alienation, which nevertheless contains a deep, mysterious power, the will to exist and act in this world. Darkness extinguishes everything, absorbs everything: forms and fire, animals and myself, how easily it unites the living! How can the shadow sides, our relationship to the (in)visible, moments of friction, inner struggle and isolation serve us as emotionally enriching and magical encounters and open us up to life?

Duration: approx. 20 minutes

“Die Frucht des Lebens” von Agama-Dance-Company

The solo performance deals with the most fundamental and existential questions about the present and future of our planet and attempts to provide answers through a new style of movement.
This performance deals with the existential questions of the present: How will the future shape up for us? What changes is nature undergoing? What are the consequences of global warming and how will the earth be transformed?
Inspired by life and with his new dance style “Afro-Somatic”, Kossi is developing a new way of moving his body and letting it speak – for the pain of Mother Earth and the animals. After his collaboration with Steptext Dance Project and the ensemble of Of Curious Nature, the idea for the solo “The Fruit of Life” was born.
