„We Are All Here – The Show” lädt ein zu einem Abend schräg-komischer Gastfreundschaft zwischen Entertainment und Fürsorge. Eine Relaxed Performance.
Die Choreograf*innen Ilana Reynolds und Laura Hicks treiben Masken der Höflichkeit ins Groteske, überzeichnen Oberflächen, bis darunter etwas Echtes hervorblitzt. Inmitten von absurdem Witz, zarter Irritation und körperlicher Verfremdung schieben sich dringliche Fragen: Wie begegnen wir dem Fremden – im Anderen, in uns selbst, in unserer Beziehung zum Planeten? Und was bedeutet es, andere willkommen zu heißen, wenn Ausgrenzung zum politischen Reflex geworden ist? Die Gastfreundschaft ist bedroht. Aber wie kann sie geschützt werden? Mit voller Hingabe an das Unbekannte und viel Mut zum Scheitern praktizieren die Performer*innen das Gastgeben als poetischen Akt des Widerstands. Eine leise Hoffnung für ein neues Miteinander.

Hicks and Reynolds das ist die künstlerische Zusammenarbeit von Laura Hicks und Ilana Reynolds. Mit einem gemeinsamen Interesse an Humor und ungehemmter Improvisation schöpft sich ihre Arbeitsmethode aus hohe Energie und eigenwilliger Bewegung. Ihre erste Arbeit, “Making Impressions and Other Failures” (2018/Frankfurt), wurde von der Jury für die Hessischen Theatertage21 und #SPOTTED 2024 ausgewählt und tourte sowohl national und als auch international. Die beiden interessieren sich dafür, wie lächerliche Impulse eine aktive Form des Widerstands gegen normative Wissensformen sein können, setzen ihre Forschung zu Aesthetics of Access in Form ihres “Hospitality Lab for Forgotten Practices” und der Performance “We Are All Here - The Show” fort.

"We Are All Here – The Show" invites you to an evening of absurdly comic hospitality somewhere between entertainment and care.
Choreographers Ilana Reynolds and Laura Hicks push the masks of politeness to the grotesque, exaggerating surfaces until something real begins to shine through. Amid absurd humor, gentle unease, and physical alienation, urgent questions arise: How do we encounter the unfamiliar – in others, in ourselves, in our relationship to the planet? And what does it mean to welcome others when exclusion has become a political reflex? Hospitality is under threat. But how can it be protected? With full devotion to the unknown and a courageous embrace of failure, the performers practice hosting as a poetic act of resistance. A quiet hope for a new way of being together.

Hicks and Reynolds, is the artistic collaboration of Laura Hicks and Ilana Reynolds. With a shared interest in humour and uninhibited improvisation, their working method draws on high energy and idiosyncratic movement. Their first work, Making Impressions and Other Failures (2018/Frankfurt), was selected by jury for the Hessisches Theatertage21 and #SPOTTED 2024, toured both nationally and internationally. Interested in how ridiculous impulses can be an active form of resistance to normative ways of knowing, they continue to pursue their research into performing aesthetics of access in the form of their Hospitality Lab for Forgotten Practices, and We Are All Here - The Show.
