In this interactive workshop, participants will learn about Rasa Theory - the ancient Indian performance framework for creating and evoking complex emotional responses in audiences. We will present a brief history of the Natya Shastra and the nine rasas (love, joy, anger, sadness, etc.). The workshop leaders will demonstrate how they have applied Bhavas and Rasas in developing the interactive script for 'Mining Hate'. Participants will then work hands-on with the rasa grid marked on the floor to physically explore shifting between emotional states during scenes and exercises.

"The Mystery of Rachel Sinclair" is a collaborative Zoom performance created by artists from South Korea, Mexico, Finland and the USA. The piece focuses on the investigation of the disappearance of a fictional Canadian journalist named Rachel Sinclair. During the presentation, the artists will give insights into the creation and development of the script and present videos related to the performance. They will also discuss their plans and visions for the future and explore ideas for a hybrid performance or an on-site event that authentically reflects the cultural diversity of the creative team.
